WHAT’S THE AGE REQUIREMENT TO BE A CMT MENTEE?
Typically, our mentees range in age from 18– 40 years of age.
DOES CMT HAVE ANY EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A MENTEE?
While we have no stringent educational requirements, most mentees have earned a high school diploma or GED, and some have attended at least two years of college or a trade school.
DO I NEED TO JOIN CMT TO SECURE A JOB WITH A TRADE UNION?
No. But as a CMT mentee – you are given the proper training and support to help ensure you will complete Union-sponsored training and licensing.
HOW LONG DOES THE CMT PROGRAM LAST?
Your length of time as a CMT mentee depends on the time it takes for your training and licensing -- anywhere from 4-5 years. Upon program completion, mentees are welcomed to become CMT mentors and remain a vital part of our CMT family.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO BECOME A MENTEE?
While participation in the CMT program is free of charge, mentees do have union-related educational fees as well as fees for course books and tools. CMT, its partners, and generous donors work to help defray these costs.
